I-CAR auto collision certification

I-CAR is an independent, not-for-profit, technical training organization, formed in 1979 by the collision industry. All I-CAR activities focus on helping the industry achieve a high level of technical training. I-CAR’s ultimate goal is that every person in the collision repair industry has the techincal knowledge and skills relevant to their position to ensure a safe and complete repair.

Until the early 1970’s, consumers had no way to distinguish between incompetent and competent mechanics. In response to this need, the independent, non-profit National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) was established in 1972. ASE’s mission is to improve the quality of vehicle repair and service through the testing and certification of repair and service professionals.
The National Auto Body Council is a not-for-profit organization committed to the goal of improving the image of all dedicated professionals in the collision repair industry. Our mission is to implement programs and activities to enhance the image of the collision repair industry.

The Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) is an organization committed to expanding the future of the collision repair industry, and to enhancing the professional image and expertise of its members. Through its direct members and 36 affiliate associations, SCRS is comprised of 9,000 collision repair businesses and 76,000 specialized professionals who work everyday with consumers and insurance companies to repair collision-damaged vehicles.
